TESTIMONIAL
“I am so grateful for your prenatal yoga classes and the lessons I learned. At my 35 week OB appointment my baby was transverse and my doctor said if he was still transverse at 36 weeks then we would need to discuss my options. Every day leading up to my next appointment I focused on practicing the baby positioning poses that you taught us. I had an ultrasound done at 36 weeks and baby boy was head down.
Two weeks later I went into labour and had the most amazing natural, unmedicated birthing experience. My water broke around 11:30pm and my contractions started shortly after. I am a first time mom so I called the case room and they recommended I come in right away. Shortly after I got to the case room I was told my baby was in the prefect position and I was 1cm dilated. We returned home where I spent the next 1-2 hours in the tub, on the birth ball or in child’s pose. Around 4am my contractions were now averaging 3 minutes apart and lasting for at least 60 seconds. Focusing on my breath made the contractions easier. We returned to the hospital and got settled into the birthing room. I listened to my body as I was taught to do so in class. I laboured in various positions spending my time in whatever position felt right for my body. As my contractions became more intense moaning during my exhales felt amazing. Around 6:15am I felt the need to push. The nurse checked me and I was fully dilated. The nurse told me that if I felt the need to push during my next contraction to start pushing. At 6:22am we welcomed our baby boy into the world.
There are 2 other very important takeaways that helped me during my pregnancy and labour. I refused to listen to any negative labour and birth stories and most importantly I believed that my body was built to give birth. I used the affirmations daily and when I went into labour I repeated to myself during every contraction that I can do this. And just like you taught us during the lesson on mindset, with every contraction I proved to myself that I could do it. Thank you so much!”
